Our lives Together: We met at a dance in 1995 and have been together and very much in love from the first evening we met. We are engaged and will be married August 3, 2002. We are dog lovers and treat them as our children. While together, we have lost two dogs to cancer. We have since acquired three new dogs/children, Jackpot, Jordan and Jasmine. We have chosen not to have children of our own because we would rather spend our time entertaining others, spending time with our four legged children and having fun on a moments notice. Rodney's Life I graduated from high school and joined the U.S. Air Force where I protected Our Country as a computer technician for four years by operating, maintaining and servicing a computer system that alerted a command post to scramble B-52 bomber pilots and crew to their planes in the event of an attack anywhere around the world. When I left the Air Force I went to college then began a career in St. Louis, MO. I volunteered to DJ for a dance club in 1995. I am still the DJ. I got many requests to DJ for parties outside of the dance club. As you can guess, that is where R&K Music Mix began. It is not just me though. This is my life but I have a wonderful, beautiful partner, Kris Kortum. We have enjoyed and grew adventure together. Now you need to read about Kris and all of her experiences.
Kris's Life I grew up in the St. Louis, MO North County area and graduated from one of the Hazelwood School District high schools. From 7th grade to graduation, I sang with all the school choirs. After graduation, I joined the Vallee des Fleur chapter of Sweet Adelines where my mother was the director and my two sisters were also members. We sang one year and competed as the quartet known as "Inheritance". I also danced with the Happy Tapper Cloggers, a square dance exhibition team. With this organization, I performed at various events and got my first chance to travel outside of Missouri without my family. This opportunity lead me to country line dancing where I currently belong to a local dance club serving as the dance coordinator and instructor. These experiences helped build my love for music and dancing. My parents never thought I would meet someone who shared my love for dogs, so meeting Rodney was a shock to everyone. We share a love for dogs, music and dancing - the major links in our relationship. It helps that we are best friends and supporters for each other in work, play and the DJ business.
